Dr. Nayar Rafique
Assistant Professor
Dr. Nayar Rafique is a distinguished faculty member at Air University Aerospace and Aviation
Campus, Kamra, where he currently serves as an Assistant Professor. He began his journey with
Air University Islamabad in 2017 and transitioned to the Kamra campus in 2019 as a senior
faculty member. Since then, he has been a key contributor to the academic, administrative, and
cultural transformation of the campus.
Dr. Rafique holds an impressive and interdisciplinary academic background, with a Ph.D. in
Economics from the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE), an MS in International
Development from Northumbria University, UK, an MBA in Finance, and a BS in Computer
Sciences. This diverse foundation allows him to blend insights from economics, technology,
development, and management in both his teaching and research.
As a passionate educator and active learner, Dr. Rafique continuously pursues professional
development, engaging in global learning platforms such as Coursera. He is a Google-certified
Data Analytics professional and regularly enhances his knowledge in areas such as data science,
policy design, and sustainability.
He has played a leading role in academic program development, particularly in proposing the
MS Management Sciences and MS Engineering Management programs at the Kamra campus.
He also serves as Program Manager for the BS FinTech program and has been instrumental in
ensuring the academic relevance and strategic growth of the university’s offerings.
Dr. Rafique’s commitment to excellence extends well beyond the classroom. He serves in
several key administrative roles including Program Manager for the BS FinTech program, Focal
Person for NBEAC Accreditation, Deputy Superintendent of Examinations, Chairman of the Anti-
Harassment Committee, and member of the Unfair Means Committee. His leadership has been
vital to maintaining academic integrity and operational efficiency at the campus.
Dr. Rafique is also a committed researcher with scholarly interests in Sustainable Development
Goals (SDGs), Artificial Intelligence, Aviation Management, and Climate Change. He has
published five research articles in reputable international journals and is a regular opinion
writer for The News, one of Pakistan’s leading newspapers, where he shares perspectives on
critical policy, economic, and developmental issues.
He remains dedicated to bridging academia and industry by facilitating student visits to major
policy institutions, industries, and the National Assembly. He has also organized numerous
impactful seminars on SDGs, E-commerce, and strategic global issues. As the founder of the
SDG Student Club at the Kamra campus, he champions student engagement in global
development discourse.
In addition to his academic and administrative responsibilities, Dr. Rafique has remained
instrumental in initiatives aimed at enhancing the aesthetic and cultural environment of the
campus. His unconditional support and active involvement in improving campus life reflect his
deep commitment to creating a vibrant, welcoming, and enriching atmosphere for students,
faculty, and staff alike.
His contributions have been widely recognized, earning him the Vice Chancellor’s
Commendation Certificate in 2022 for his outstanding service to the university.
Dr. Rafique’s multifaceted contributions continue to shape the academic excellence,
operational strength, and community spirit of Air University Kamra, positioning it as a hub of
innovation, inclusivity, and impact.
